My journey of versatile experience started by winning the best female dancer award at Indo- Anerican Garba night, which opened my gateway to become part of the folk dance institute in India. From then on my dance journey has been non-stop. Along with my folk dance troupe I participated in the International folk dance festival held in Dijoun, France in 1984 representing India and bringing silver medial back home. I continued my international traveling with my folk dance group performing in UK, France, USA at the same time performing in several states of India as well.
I worked as a lecturer in India and thus served on the cultural committee teaching and choreographing folk dances for cultural shows and training students for inter- collegiate competitions as well.
After migrating to USA I started teaching dancing to kids with an intent to spread my culture, to keep my passion and skills alive, to keep my children in close touch with our cultural heritage, and to keep myself lively, as dance has always been my life and will always be. I volunteered to train teenage girls for Fogana competition and my group won trophy in 2002.
For long I have been involved with numerous organizations like Volunteers in Service for Education in India, Indian Community of Connecticut, Hindu Cultural Center, Gujarat Samaj, Asha for Education, etc. showcasing our art for good cause.
I have choreographed uncountable wedding dances, dances for various private events, conducted several school events, culture and art events at universities.
So my die-hard passion, reputation, and experience makes me an effective dance instructor and choreographer.
